KENYA
Steering for Greatness Foundation is rooted in Nigeria but its impact travels further. By working hand in hand with trusted local partners like Waridi Asante Organisation in Kenya, we are opening doors for young people in communities where opportunity is scarce and challenges are complex. Together, we create spaces where youth are inspired, skilled, and equipped to build better futures.
Webuye in Bungoma County carries both promise and struggle — it is a community rebuilding after industrial collapse, where unemployment, teenage pregnancy, and drug abuse weigh heavily on young lives. Our Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Technology (L.E.T.) Bootcamps bring hope and possibility into this setting, offering young people the skills and confidence to chart new paths.
What Happens at the Bootcamps
innovative projects
Development of soft skills, emotional intelligence, digital literacy, and financial literacy
Connection to real-world opportunities: government youth funds, digital work platforms, internships, and mentors from Africa and beyond
Celebratory recognition and tools — from certificates of achievement to digital resources — that reinforce momentum long after the camp closes
Highlights from Webuye Bootcamps

2024 – Strengthening Teen Leadership
The Bootcamp explored pathways beyond school, introducing young people to entrepreneurship, employability, and personal leadership. The “Dare to Dream” panel brought together professionals from South Africa, Kenya, and Nigeria to share authentic stories of resilience, mentorship, and career breakthroughs. A new milestone was the launch of Waridi Asante Organisation, anchoring youth development in Webuye with a strong local foundation.

2023 – FutureProofed
Participants discovered their sense of purpose, practiced visual storytelling, and produced short films addressing issues like insecurity and environmental conservation. Hands-on sessions in design, media, and storytelling deepened creativity while building teamwork and communication.

2022 – Foundations of Growth
The first Bootcamp in Webuye planted the seeds: vision boards, communication workshops, photography practice, and future-readiness panels. It created the model that subsequent years have expanded — co-delivered by Steering for Greatness and local partners, and sustained by alumni energy.
Waridi Asante Organisation
Waridi Asante was born out of this partnership, launched during the 2024 Bootcamp. The organisation leads local engagement, ensuring that training translates into action within schools, churches, and community networks. Steering for Greatness supports with curriculum design, facilitator training, and monitoring. Together, we co-brand programs, uphold shared safeguarding standards, and track outcomes — making this a genuine sister-organisation bond.
Voices from the Ground
“Volunteer to build skills and networks.”
“You are not a tree; you can move.”
“Money is a tool. Budget, save, and invest so you can choose your future.”
Why It Matters
Our international work shows that local challenges are not isolated. Across borders, young Africans face similar struggles with education, opportunity, and resilience. By partnering with organisations like Waridi Asante, Steering for Greatness ensures that programs are locally grounded yet globally connected — proving that transformation is possible when young people are given the skills, mentors, and confidence to lead.
